WHAT CONDITION THE CONDITION IS IN: This item has never been introduced to film by us. It's being sold as-is. No warranty, no returns. For the adventurous type who likes their gear with a little mystery. Scroll down for the details, assuming you have the time and the curiosity. Both are optional.

A Stockholm studio, circa 1975. A photographer in a turtleneck tilts a freshly pulled Polaroid toward the light, squinting at a 6×6 cm proof the way a chess player studies the board before committing to a move that can't be taken back.

That little ritual, repeated in studios the world over, was made possible in no small part by the Hasselblad 30198 Polaroid 100 Instant Film Back. It's a device so sensibly purposeful that it practically bristles at being called an accessory.

It clipped onto most V-series bodies, accepted Polaroid Type 100 pack film, pressed it flat with a crisp glass pressure plate, tucked a dark slide in for protection, and asked nothing more of you than to pull the tab and wait. That's it.

No algorithm, no histogram, no second screen. It was just chemistry and patience and the quiet confidence of a photographer who knew what they were doing before the shutter clicked.

Of course, the universe had other plans: Type 100 film was discontinued, leaving the 30198 stranded between eras, clutching expired stock and transfer techniques like a diplomat whose country no longer exists.

Collectors keep them. Creative shooters covet them. And the Hasselblad faithful still reach for it, because some tools don't just prove the exposure; they prove the photographer.

*While Polaroid and Fujifilm stopped production, a company called One Instant (based in Vienna) currently produces hand-made Type 100 packs.
